This is the first time these works have been shown in new york, thanks to Galerie Lelong. The show is open till June 16th.
Cildo Meireles- Insercoes em Circuitos Ideologicos: Coca-Cola Projeto (Insertions into ideological circuits: Coca-Cola project)- 1970
Meireles printed messages such as “Yankees, go home!” onto Coke bottles before they were refilled and recirculated. In another version of the work (Projeto Cedula), resistant slogans were printed on paper currency of various denominations.
